City to City Partnerships
City-to-City Partnerships is a twinning program representing a collaboration between cities across regions or countries, where a mentor city supports a mentee city by sharing expertise, best practices, and solutions to common challenges, fostering global cooperation and sustainable development.
Water Organization Partnerships (WOP4R)
The Water Organization Partnerships for Resilience is designed to supercharge knowledge sharing and capacity building among water entities in Asia and the Pacific. The program connects high-performing, experienced and efficient water organizations (mentors) with those seeking institutional strengthening (mentees) through a peer-to-peer learning approach. Since 2007, WOP4R has supported 83 twinning partnerships, enabling ~$1.1 billion worth of investments in water supply and sanitation
Meaningful Youth Engagement
The meaningful youth engagement initiative elevates youth voices in the water sector and addresses the critical role young people play in the sector within ADB, driving the momentum toward a dedicated Water & Youth Action Agenda.
Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO)
ADB’s Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO) is a comprehensive assessment of water security across Asia and the Pacific. Covering 50 economies, AWDO applies five key dimensions to build a robust evidence base that informs national planning, investment decisions, and policy reform. The latest edition was officially launched at the IWA Water Development Congress and Exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand.
Accelerated Innovation Approach
The Accelerated Innovation Approach (AIA) is a framework that creates a single service window for both internal and external stakeholders of the Water and Urban Development Sector, with the intention of improving the adoption of innovation, and harmonize the innovation programs currently in the portfolio. The AIA acts as a GATEWAY to innovation—guiding solutions and processes, accelerating the adoption of new technologies, translating innovation into practice, and enabling collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Laundry Transformation
Laundry is an essential yet overlooked part of life for billions. The Laundry Transformation Initiative reframes laundry as a development priority and calls on stakeholders across Asia and the Pacific and beyond to join the movement for equitable and sustainable change. By bringing together siloed disciplines, it aims to help address inefficiencies, shift cultural norms, reduce environmental burdens, and empower communities.
e-Marketplace
ADB e-Marketplace is a platform where innovative technologies and solutions in the water sector are spotlighted through monthly, themed webinars. The e-Marketplace has featured over 80 solutions from technology partners.
Accelerating Innovation through Digitaliziation (AID)
Technology pilots test and refine water innovations in real-world settings, while scale-ups elevates proven solutions further by expanding reach, strengthening resilience, and unlocking new investment opportunities. Through the Accelerating Innovation through Digitalization (AID) program, ADB staff can pilot innovative technologies in developing member countries ensuring, innovation moves from ideas to impact.
ADB's Asia and the Pacific Resilience Hub (Hub4R) is a dynamic platform where experts can come together to tackle water and urban livability challenges. Developed by ADB's Water and Urban Development Sector Office, Hub4R connects diverse partners and clients from the region to spark collaboration and turn learning into action.
