Michael White
Senior Urban Development Specialist
Michael White is a civil/environmental engineer with 35 years of professional experience in the water and urban development sectors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master’s degree in water and waste engineering. He has been based in Southeast Asia for 27 years and has worked full-time in the development sector since 1997. Before joining the Asian Development Bank in 2009, Mr. White was staff with a number of large international consulting firms, specializing in water supply, sanitation, and urban development projects; involved at all project stages, from planning and concept through to implementation and beyond.
From 2011 to 2018, Mr. White was responsible for developing ADB’s rural and urban water supply and sanitation portfolio in Cambodia, in addition to administering similar projects across the region. He now heads the project administration and technical teams for the development and implementation of water supply, sanitation, solid waste, and urban development projects across Southeast Asia.

Neeta Pokhrel has over 27 years of experience working with various organizations, such as the ADB, private sector, international consulting firms, non-governmental organizations, and water utilities. She leads the strategic development of ADB’s water and urban development sector in the Pacific and Southeast Asia to meet its goal of a resilient and water secure Asia and the Pacific.
