ADB e-Marketplace for a Water-Secure and Resilient Asia and the Pacific

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) e-Marketplace spotlights innovative solutions, latest technologies and best practices to deliver smart, resilient, safe, and inclusive water management and services in Asia and the Pacific.

Upcoming Session

Safeguarding Urban Water Systems Against Flood Risk

12 March | 1:00-2:00 p.m. (Manila time)

This March, the e-Marketplace session highlights preventive and responsive systems that help cities manage flood risk and maintain continuity of services. As flood events continue to strain urban drainage systems and critical water infrastructure across Asia and the Pacific, strengthening resilience has never been more crucial. Join us as we uncover two technologies supporting urban flood resilience: Maezawa Industries’ emergency shutoff valves that rapidly isolate affected part of potable water networks to sustain the service, and ShinMaywa’s innovative pump station system designed to efficiently manage floodwaters while simplifying long-term maintenance.

(Session 25) Plastics, Reimagined: A session on plastic waste recycling

Plastic waste remains one of the most persistent environmental challenges in Asia and the Pacific. Recycling is a critical part of the solution, but effective interventions are not without challenges. This e-Marketplace session brings together three complementary technologies addressing different points along the plastics recycling chain. Join us for an insightful session exploring practical solutions for recovering, recycling, and reintegrating plastics into use.

  1. Circulyzer:  Circulyzer developed a novel and efficient plastic waste washing & separation technology.
  2. EREMA: EREMA specializes in efficient, industrial-scale recycling systems designed for long-term viability.

(Session 24) Technologies at Work Beneath the Surface

Spanning thousands of kilometers, underground water networks keep our cities running. However, many water networks are old, complex and difficult to monitor.  According to the Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO) 2020, utilities in Asia and the Pacific lose about 29% of their water to leaks and inefficiencies. This session explores innovations that help utilities monitor, repair, and extend the life of water networks.
