Kiribati

Kiribati consists of 33 islands spread over 3.5 million square kilometers of ocean. Its economy has slowly recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the 2023 droughts with an expected growth of 2.3% in 2023 driven by the resumption of infrastructure projects in energy, water, and transport. Inflation is estimated to have peaked at 6% in 2023 due to the recovery in domestic demand, supply shortages, and the surge in global commodity prices and is expected to gradually fall to 3% as supply chains normalize.
